Amanda Bouc is a second-year graduate student in communication studies. She is originally from Valparaiso, Nebraska, and joins CECD/ICDD this fall as a graduate research intern. Amanda works to develop case studies over various topics and to prepare content for CECD and ICDD events. She also prepares political news content for the social media sites. Amanda hopes to keep the K-State and Manhattan community excited and educated about CECD and ICDD events, while also working to increase voter and political education to enhance public deliberation. After completing her master's degree, Amanda plans to stay involved in academia by teaching and researching at the collegiate level. She also has a passion for competitive forensics, and would love the opportunity to continue coaching for that activity.
Annie Cutler is a senior from Topeka, Kansas. A political science and public relations major, she joins ICDD and CECD this fall as a research intern. Annie is in charge of developing news stories and other content for biweekly news blasts and both the CECD and ICDD websites. She is also working on a grant from the New York Times to encourage student newspaper readership. Annie hopes to improve her research skills and build her portfolio in preparation for graduate school, while also learning more about engagement and community development in rural Kansas communities. She plans to attend either graduate school next fall for a master’s degree in international studies or global communication.
Amanda Meinhardt is a fifth-year senior double majoring in psychology and dance with an Equine Certificate. She is from Rogersville, Missouri. As a second-year intern at ICDD and CECD, Amanda will be in charge of running Kids Voting Kansas: Riley County. She hopes to encourage the Manhattan community to become involved in exciting our youth about the voting process. In addition, Amanda wants to continue to learn more about ICDD and the communities it serves, as well as becoming more involved in all the services ICDD provides. She plans to attend graduate school to become an equine-assisted psychotherapist.
Jenna Surprenant is a senior majoring in communication studies from Marshall, Minnesota, and is a returning intern to ICDD and CECD. As the student office coordinator, she works on website development, event planning, managing, and maintenance. This year Jenna hopes to better her website development skills and continue to expand and develop ICDD and CECD events. After college, she hopes to attend graduate school to get her masters in Communication Studies.
Jared Wasinger is a junior majoring in public relations and political science. Jared joins CECD and ICDD as the media and marketing intern. As the media intern, Jared will work on writing and creating online newsletters, website development, and creating promotional materials. He hopes do as much as he can to engage the outside community with ICDD and CECD's tremendous ideals and plans. After college, Jared hopes to attend law school to further his education and career.
