Kansas State University Excellence in Engagement Award Application Opens December 1
The Kansas State University Excellence in Engagement award application opens December 1. The Center for Engagement and Community Development (CECD) is happy to announce the award is returning for its second year.
Established in 2011 by the Office of the Provost, the award highlights excellence in engaged scholarship, both from campus faculty and K-State Research and Extension. Whether through research, teaching and/or outreach, these initiatives demonstrate innovative and/or sustained efforts in university and community engagement, which impact both university and community partners in a positive manner.
For the purpose of this award, CECD defines engagement as:
“A form of research, teaching or service in which collaborative efforts between university and community stakeholders result in scholarly activity and community benefit around a public issue.”
Two engagement partnerships will be chosen to receive the award. The deadline to submit materials is February 1, 2013, with results announced mid-February. Each winning partnership will receive a plaque and a check for $2,500. Additionally, the partners will be recognized in university new stories, receive consideration for national-level engagement awards, and be highlighted as a Kansas State University Signature Partnership.
Application materials should be emailed to firstname.lastname@example.org with “Kansas State University Excellence in Engagement Award” as the subject line. Questions about the award can be directed to the same email address.
